About

Meet Your Tutor

For over 13 years, Meeraj has worked as a full-time tutor specializing in standardized test preparation. His students typically improve 5-9 points on the ACT, 100-300 points on the SAT, and 9-20 points on the GRE.

Whereas the industry standard for the length of a prep course or private tutoring program ranges from 30-60 hours of instruction time alone, most of Meeraj’s students see significant gains in anywhere from 6-15 hours of tutoring, depending on the test they are taking.

Holding 99th percentile scores on every exam he teaches, he has gained a reputation as the “go-to” tutor for any student looking to achieve large gains in a short time. His students tend to be high achievers aiming for scores in the 99th percentile, yet many of them have busy schedules and need a tutor with a track record of efficiency.

Background

With a dual background in English and Engineering, Meeraj is uniquely equipped to assist students with all sections of the test. He graduated from the Rutgers School of Engineering Honors Program in 2010 with a Bachelor’s in Biomedical Engineering and from the University of Denver in 2015 with a Master’s Degree, concentrating in Literature & Creative Writing.

As an instructor and educational consultant at Integrated Educational Services and Summit Prep, two of the lead tutoring firms in New Jersey, he wrote curriculum, developed strategies, trained teachers, led full SAT/ACT classes and workshops, and tutored privately for the SAT, ACT, and GRE. He also prepared students for AP exams and SAT Subject tests in English Literature, Writing/Language Composition, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Calculus. In addition to his tutoring services, he has helped multiple students with Essay writing for both high school English and College Admissions.

Eventually, Meeraj focused on building his own private tutoring practice, concentrating on SAT, ACT, and GRE prep. His students hailed from many of the top public and private schools in New Jersey and New York, including the PINGRY Academy, Wardlaw-Hartridge, Newark Academy, Rutgers Preparatory School, and Stuyvesant High.

Other Experience

In the capacity of an independent contractor, he has also lent his expertise to leading educational firms, such as EMBRACE Tutoring & Educational Services, Marlboro Learning Center (where he served as the head of the SAT & ACT program and the lead instructor), Brix Education in London, and H&C Education in Boston (where he currently serves as the in-house test prep expert to the company’s clients). In addition to liaising with various companies, he has also been nationally ranked on Wyzant.com every year from 2014 till present, always appearing in the top 25 – out of a network of 75,000+ tutors – in any given year.

Meeraj embraced the transition to online tutoring as early as 2017 – gaining a full 3 years of experience with the medium before the pandemic would make it the new norm – and has always ensured that the quality of his service was not impacted by the shift. His students reach out to him from every corner of the United States, from New York and Florida to California and Hawaii, and he has worked with international students from as far away as Bolivia, Morocco, Dubai, Seychelles, Bangalore, Taiwan, Singapore, and Moscow. Many of his students have received acceptances at such colleges and universities as Princeton, Columbia, UPenn, Cornell, NYU, John Hopkins, William & Mary, University of Michigan, Wesleyan, University of California-Berkeley, and MIT.
